Lars Ulrich is drummer and co-founder, with guitarist James Hatfield,
of the famous American heavy metal band Metallica.
Born in Denmark, Lars Ulrich as a boy he was a promising tennis player,
he started playing drums at 13, fascinated by the music of Deep Purple and their drummer Ian Paice.
He became a professional drummer later, when he moved to the U.S.A. with his family
at the end of the Seventies. In 1981 Lars Ulrich met the young guitarist James Hetfield, passionate about both heavy metal
and punk rock, and together they decided to form Metallica in October of that year.
The drumming style of Lars Ulrich was influenced by the rock and metal music
of Motorhead, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard and by their great drummers.
A feature of Lars Ulrich's drum set up, as it often happen with Hard Rock, Heavy, Speed and Trash Metal drummers,
