Roger Taylor is an english musician, singer guitarist and drummer, best known for playing
with legendary rock band Queen
Roger Meddows Taylor (born 26 July 1949) approached the world of music at a very young age,
singing in the church choir and playing guitar in his first group when he was just eight.
A little later Roger Taylor began playing drums with some local bands
and became the lead singer of The Reaction, a band that won a contest for local talent.
In 1968 Roger Taylor met guitarist Brian May and joined his group as a drummer.
After two years the group broke up, Brian and Roger then found in Freddie Mercury
the right singer to break into the world of rock, and founded the band Queen,
which bassist John Deacon joined shortly after.
Roger Taylor has contributed to many of Queen's major hits and composed songs for each of their albums, often singing as a lead vocal in his compositions. During the 1980s he formed The Cross, a band in which he was the lead singer and rhythm guitarist.
