American musician and composer Stewart Copeland was the drummer of
rock band Police and is well known for his drum beats
Stewart Copeland was born in 1952 in the USA, but spent his formative years in Beirut in the Middle East,
where he discovered his passion for music and drums, starting playing his first drum beats at age 12.
Then his father makes him study the drumming technique with one of the greatest drummers in Lebanon.
Later Stewart Copeland moved to England and in 1977 he met singer and bass player Sting
with whom he founded The Police. They were joined by expert guitarist Andy Summers and the trio
quickly achieved worldwide success and became one of the top rock bands of the 80's,
thanks to Sting's compositions, Andy's arrangements and Stewart's drum beats.
