Born in Chicago in 1945, Tony Williams showed his great talent for music and drums as a child, and at the age of 17 he became the drummer in Miles Davis Jazz Quintet, with Wayne Shorter on saxophones, Herbie Hancock on piano and Ron Carter on double-bass, influencing Miles Davis' musical choices with his innovative drumming style. After the collaboration with Miles Davis, Tony Williams formed his own jazz group, named V.S.O.P., with Freddie Hubbard on trumpet. Tony Williams' creativity and great technique are an ever-present reference for all jazz drummers.
