Frank Edwin Wright III, aka Tre Cool, was born in 1972 in Frankfurt, Germany, but grew up in Willits, California.
He began playing drums very young, his father was in touch with Larry Livermore, the founder of Lookout! Records; so, when he was a kid,
Tre Cool already had the opportunity to start playing drums for one of Livermore's bands, the Lookouts.
In 1988 they took part in a live concert with another rock band, the Sweet Children, which would later change the name to Green Day.
In 1990 Tre Cool joined the Green Day, replacing their drummer who had left the band. Billie Joe guessed he would become a great drummer
as he had seen him playing the drums dressed as a clown some time before.
Tre Cool's favorite drummers who have most influenced his drumming style belong to both rock and jazz music,
from Ringo Starr, Keith Moon, John Bonham, Charlie Watts, to the great jazz drummer Buddy Rich.
